Around here, Earth Day is every day. But on April 22, all of us at Earth Science celebrate our favorite holiday by coming together, raising awareness and showing appreciation for our planet. (We also celebrate with 25% off our earth-friendly products!)

We see ourselves as stewards of a better world, so we try to fuse social and environmental responsibility into the core of our business. When you purchase Earth Science products, your actions support:

Our commitment to clean.

In all of its 35+ years, ever since the development of its storied apricot facial scrub, Earth Science has been a 100% paraben-free brand. We’ve always believed that parabens have no place on your face (or body, or hair!). And you’ll find zero aluminum, alum or zirconium salts in our plant-based lichen deodorants—just odor-preventing botanicals and anti-bacterial extracts.

Our respect for recycling.

We diligently choose American-made, sustainable packaging whenever we can—including up to 80% post-consumer—and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified cartons, which are sourced from sustainably managed forests to protect wildlife habitat and maintain biodiversity. For shipping Earth Science products, we only purchase eco-friendly, biodegradable materials, like packing peanuts made from cornstarch that are 100% compostable (and 100% anti-static, because how annoying is the Styrofoam version?).

Our promise to the planet.

Our products are manufactured locally in Southern California, using sustainably sourced raw materials. As a Carbon Fund partner for more than 10 years, we are also dedicated to supporting the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the fight against climate change by supporting climate-friendly projects. Our offices are open four days a week, eliminating one commute day and reducing an estimated 12,300 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions annually. By sharing the common goal of fighting climate change, we can be a part of the solution toward a clean energy, low carbon future.

From our forests to our mountains and seas, Earth Science loves our planet. As we celebrate the International Day of Forests this month, we also celebrate a milestone of our own. We are pleased to announce 10 years of partnership with Carbonfund.org and the Carbonfree Partner Program. Our initiatives to fight global warming for cleaner, and more sustainable business practices, leading to a healthier earth today and tomorrow, are fueled by our passion to keep our environment green.

Keeping the Golden State Golden
Reducing our carbon footprint is a daily priority at Earth Science and we make our best efforts to walk the walk from the products we make to our daily office life. We love our home in California and choose to manufacture locally within the Golden State. By sourcing components locally and choosing recycled & recyclable content whenever possible, we reduce the transportation of goods and materials daily. We believe our higher standards for vendors and raw material suppliers increases awareness for the care of our beautiful planet. Each small step creates an impact, so we pride ourselves in the details like our packing material, a biodegradable, and compostable material made from potato starch.

Sustainability is in our culture
We use local recycling programs and promote a paperless work environment in our offices to reduce and reuse materials and supplies every day. Though our staff loves their coastal commutes, our 4-day workweek reduces vehicle emissions, uses less power & resources, and leaves a little more time to enjoy nature’s beauty.

Completing the Circle
Through our partnership and work with Carbonfund, we are pleased to contribute to the planting of over 100 trees each year and aiding in reforestation efforts. Our contribution to forest preservation helps to create jobs, maintain and expand our wildlife habitats, protects biodiversity, and improves local environmental quality.

We are so excited to celebrate and share this milestone, and thank you for making our contribution possible.

In April we celebrate earth awareness, and come together to love our planet a little bit more. Throughout the month, we are amazed to see the impact a small amount of extra care can have for our favorite planet (we love it so much, we named our company after it!). Heading into May, we don’t have to leave behind the small steps we take everyday towards a greener future. Here are a few that you can be part of just by using Earth Science products.

No Microbeads – Not Now, Not Ever
Instead of plastic microbeads or other environmental contaminants, our Apricot Gentle Facial Scrub has always relied on nature. With a special blend of polished crushed walnut powder, glowing skin has never and will never come at the expense of our rivers, streams and waterways.

Locals Only – California-based Business
Dreamed, designed, and made in California, from start to finish, our products are true California natives. By using locally sourced suppliers and processes, we save our planet from the added pollution that long transport and shipping distances incur.

Packed With Love – Eco-Peanuts For Good
We use eco-friendly, biodegradable, packing materials to send products your way. With our special peanuts made from cornstarch in every box, we can keep our earth looking as good as you do day in and day out. Throw them in your garden or composter and watch them disappear.

You recycle when we recycle – up to 80% post-consumer packaging
Every box, bottle and tube at Earth Science Naturals is recyclable or made from recycled materials. Keeping extra paper and plastic out of our landfills is easy when you use our products.

Tree Huggers – We Love Carbon Fund
As a proud sponsor of CarbonFund.org, Earth Science Naturals is dedicated to supporting the reduction of greenhouse gasses and emissions and the fight against climate change. When you use Earth Science Naturals products you take small steps towards a clean energy and low carbon future.

These small steps together, not only benefit our planet, but also benefit your hair, skin and body every day.
